Hi, I came over here from Substack Grow and I'm so glad I did.

I live in the Netherlands, and the word nerd in me was floored to discover a pandemic dictionary of over 300 new Dutch words coined during these 'unprecedented times.' I wrote about one of those words recently over on my Substack: the word 'huidhonger,' which translates to 'skin hunger.' Sharing it here, hoping you'll give it a read! https://deepa.substack.com/p/letters-by-deepa-12-huidhonger

Oh needed, needed, needed this - thank you so much. So happy to have found this wonderful letter! She said, scrappily but with full heart! :D

Just what I needed to hear! Just forced myself to write 500 words after putting it off a week. Felt dry before I started writing, directionless while I was doing it and now done, I hate every word of it. Thought I was the only one! So a big thank you for the article and the encouragement.

Feeling so inspired by this. There is so much pressure to start strong, this make me feel like it’s ok to build more into a crescendo through the accumulation of said scraps.

Wow, as someone with several open pages documents with just a scant few lines in each of them--this is incredibly encouraging!

I just subscribed to the emails, and then this. 🙏🏼 I have a length of jute string stretched between door frames and across a wall to a bookshelf, hung with scraps of paper - gleaned and scribbled and typed thoughts and ideas and Scriptures and sketches, attached by colourful little clothespins. I had been overwhelmed with a project the Lord has placed on my heart, and had prayed for clarity or something more solid to aim toward, and then I read your email. 🙂

Gleaning. This IS the work for now. Thank you! I look forward to reading previous posts.

Thank you! Just what I needed today and something I'd not thought of in this way before.
