Gosh, I love all of this. I laughed and also wanted to cry at this part, "(Being an artist is such a delight!)" Whenever I try and explain to my husband how writing can make me feel so bad, and he doesn't understand and asks why I keep doing it. But it feels like I can't not, you know? But it does sometimes feel like "not a delight." Thanks for the encouragement, Ashlee & Stephanie!
I so resonate with the idea that nothing is wasted. We tend to get caught up in the big, grand vision; that goal we're headed toward. We forget that the messy-middle is where the good stuff is. That's what makes up most of our lives. And yet, when we focus on the final destination, we can miss out on the beautiful things outside the window along the way. Can't wait to read her book!
The bag of spent candle tins. Love that. I have my own collection of tins and jars with a nano layer of wax. Even though my son is grown, I relate to all of the struggle addressed in the interview. The saboteur chatter. The perfectionism. And the help God provides when I am open to seeing it. Thanks so much, Ashlee and Stephanie.

Oh, isn't this the tension--you can't not do it, but it's so hard and stretching. I think you're in excellent company here, and certainly not alone.
I’ve missed your words Stephanie! I hope you’ll have something to share soon! ❤️
Bless you for saying so! And I hope you checked your inbox yesterday :)
The precise encouragement needed at the exact right time. Thank you Stephanie and Ashlee.

Yes, so much to be said for the messy middle!

Plus, I now have Bob Sorge’s book on my search & read list!
Loved reading about God's provision for Ashlee's act of creativity - so glad she chose to obey the call to create!
